The production of the "City Living Room" display model for a commercial complex in a certain city, from material selection to post production coloring, was carried out with the goal of "90% restoration". The following is the actual production process:

1、 Material selection: Match the texture of the building

The main body of the model is based on gypsum board, simulating the tough texture of the building's exterior walls; The internal structure uses wooden boards (such as pine and birch) to restore the warm texture of the wooden decoration inside the building; Local details (such as metal decorative strips) are made of ABS plastic and painted to present a metallic luster.

2、 Production process: Layered restoration of architectural details

Main framework construction:

Cut the exterior contour of the building with gypsum board, and connect it into a foundation frame through mortise and tenon joints to ensure structural stability. Wooden boards are precisely cut and spliced to restore the layout and proportions of the interior spaces of buildings, such as courtyards and shops.

Detail shaping:

Polish the surface of the gypsum board with sandpaper until smooth, and then fill the gaps with putty to simulate the flatness of the building's exterior walls;

The surface of the wooden board is first scraped and polished, then coated with primer and topcoat. After each layer of paint is dry, it is polished and finally sprayed with clear varnish to restore the natural texture and luster of the wood;

The ABS plastic parts are first polished smooth, and then evenly sprayed with self spray paint (such as gold or silver) to simulate the texture of metal decoration.

3、 Post processing and coloring: precise restoration of color and texture

Coloring logic:

Referring to the real-life photos of the building, the model is divided into three categories: exterior walls, wooden structures, and metal decorations, each matched with colors:

Exterior wall: Spray with water pink (such as light gray, beige), dry and then spray with clear varnish to restore the low saturation natural color tone of the building exterior wall;

Wooden structure: Spray wood grain paint (such as light walnut color, light oak color), and then use wide edge tape to block the boundary, avoiding color mixing and restoring the warm texture of the wood;

Metal decoration: Spray metal paint (such as gold or silver) to simulate the luster of architectural metal decoration.

Detail optimization:

For model components with different color blocks, they should be disassembled and then painted to ensure accurate color accuracy;

For components that cannot be disassembled, use masking paper to mark the boundaries and avoid paint color mixing that affects aesthetics;

For models that require surface texture (such as stone texture), spray them with matte paint and pigments, or paste foam wallpaper before spraying to restore the natural texture of the building's exterior walls.

4、 Implementation logic with a restoration rate of 90%

In the production process, through "material texture matching+process detail polishing+precise color reproduction", the model is made to be highly consistent with the building in terms of appearance, material texture, and color matching:

Appearance: Frame structure, spatial layout, and 1:1 restoration of the building;

Material texture: The toughness of gypsum board, the warmth of wood, and the luster of metal correspond one-to-one with the real architectural scene;

Color matching: light gray exterior wall, light walnut wood, metal gold, with a color error controlled within 10% compared to the actual building scene.

In this case, from material selection to process details, and then to post production coloring, every step is focused on the goal of "90% restoration", making the model a "scaled down replica" of the building. Customers can intuitively feel the professionalism and restoration of the factory's production.
