Ship model making plan
1、 Material preparation
Main material
Hull: The frame is made of oak plywood (thickness 1.5-2mm), and the rib structure is processed with pine strips
Deck: 0.8mm cherry wood panel splicing, retaining natural wood grain direction
Accessories: brass wire made anchor chain, ABS board carved porthole
Supplementary materials
Adhesive: Slow drying epoxy resin adhesive (curing time 8 hours)
Tools: Micro wire saw (0.3mm saw blade), magnetic fixing table
2、 Core process flow
Hull Forming
Keel production: Three layers of staggered laminated oak wood, CNC carved basic outline
Rib installation: using hot bending technology to make the pine strips conform to the ship's curve
Skin treatment: 0.5mm oak sheet steam softened to cover the hull of the ship
Detail processing
Ship window production: First drill positioning holes (1mm drill bit), then use a surgical knife to trim the edges
Mast assembly: Hardwood tenoned and wrapped with linen rope to simulate real cables
Windgear treatment: Cotton canvas soaked in beeswax for shaping, with natural creases reserved during sewing
3、 Post processing
surface treatment
Old craftsmanship:
① Localized staining of coffee stains to simulate water marks
② 2000 grit sandpaper lightly grinds protruding metal accessories
③ Toothbrush splashes rust colored powder
Painting and coloring
Deck: Spray painted in three stages (primer → teak color → semi transparent varnish)
Ship side: Use cover film to spray red, white, and black colors in layers
Metal parts: oxidation effect after electroplating treatment
4、 International transportation plan
packaging design
Inner layer: pearl cotton mold fixed to the hull, rust proof paper wrapped around metal parts
Middle layer: 5cm thick foam board buffer
Outer layer: Waterproof plywood wooden box (with reserved desiccant compartment)
protective measures
Temperature control: built-in silicone desiccant (humidity indicator card)
Shockproof: polyurethane foam is filled between the hull and the box
Identification: Mark this end upwards and the international symbol for fragile items
