Petrochemical Exhibition Model Production Case Study
1. Model Positioning
Customized refinery model for a petrochemical company's exhibition hall, focusing on reproducing the core production unit's process flow and spatial layout within the factory area. The model must achieve 90% accuracy and include dynamic demonstration functionality.

2. Production Process
Main Structure: Laser-cut acrylic panels were used to construct the framework of the facility. Key equipment (reactors, towers) were 3D-printed using resin, while the piping system was made from copper tubes that were bent and then electroplated.
Dynamic Components: Micro motors drive conveyor belts to simulate material transportation, LED light strips display the flow of materials, and electromagnetic valves control pneumatic components to demonstrate valve opening and closing.
Terrain Reproduction: High-density foam is carved to replicate the factory terrain, with simulated gravel roads laid by hand, and fire lanes and pipe rack supports arranged according to the actual site layout.
3. Material Selection
Equipment Housing: ABS engineering plastic coated with matte metallic paint.
Piping System: Combination of electroplated copper tubes and transparent PVC tubes.
Accessory Facilities: Stair railings made from etched plates, and nylon mesh simulating blast walls.
4. Coating Process
Base Coat Treatment: Full coverage with epoxy primer for rust prevention, and atomized putty to fill joints
Layered Coloring:
Equipment Main Body: Hammered texture paint sprayed for an industrial feel
Pipe Markings: Water transfer printing process to replicate industrial color codes (red fire hoses, yellow sulfur pipes, etc.)
Aging treatment: Pastel colors simulate oil residue buildup, dry brushing technique highlights metal wear
