Outdoor stainless steel airplane model production case:
Material selection
Using stainless steel sheet as the main body, it combines corrosion resistance and mechanical strength; Paired with aluminum alloy for lightweight components such as wings and tail fins; Weathering steel is used for easily worn parts such as landing gear and intake duct; Acrylic made cockpit glass, restoring transparent texture; Stainless steel brackets ensure stability for outdoor displays.
manufacturing process
1. Basic Forming
Cutting and bending: Laser cutting is used to accurately cut stainless steel plates, and hydraulic bending machines are used to shape large curved structures such as the fuselage and wings, ensuring smooth lines.
Welding and Grinding: Use argon arc welding technology to connect components, sand the weld seam smooth with sandpaper, and then use a polishing machine to polish it to a mirror effect, restoring the metallic luster.
Skeleton construction: The internal skeleton of the fuselage is constructed with stainless steel pipes to enhance structural stability and reserve space for subsequent detailed installation.
2. Detail enhancement
Wings and tail fins: Aluminum alloy components are CNC carved to depict wing surface textures and flap details, while stainless steel brackets support the wings to ensure a lightweight display.
Air intake and landing gear: The weather resistant steel air intake adopts stamping forming technology, and the landing gear is connected to the fuselage through welding, with rust prevention treatment on the surface.
Cabin and signage: Acrylic cabin glass is laser cut and molded, with LED lights installed inside to simulate cockpit lighting; The stainless steel body is etched with the "J-20" logo, and the red paint surface is sprayed to highlight the visual focus.
3. Anti corrosion and weather resistant treatment
Surface treatment: The body is sprayed with outdoor specific anti rust paint (primer+topcoat), with the primer enhancing adhesion and the topcoat resisting UV and rainwater erosion, ensuring no fading or rusting within 5 years.
Structural reinforcement: The stainless steel bracket adopts a triangular support structure, with anti slip pads welded at the bottom to adapt to outdoor ground environments and ensure long-term display stability.
Post processing and coloring
1. Basic coating
Base color spraying: Using electrostatic spraying technology, evenly covering the gray primer of the body to ensure color uniformity.
Detail color separation: Spray light gray on the wings, tail fins, and other parts to create a sense of layering with the fuselage; Spray dark gray on the intake duct, landing gear and other parts to enhance the three-dimensional sense of the structure.
2. Aging and texture shaping
Old craft: Use sandpaper to lightly grind the edges of the wings and the surface of the intake duct, simulating battlefield wear marks; Apply brown paint to the body of the machine to restore the outdoor weathering effect.
Metallic texture: The edges of the cabin glass and intake duct are coated with metallic paint to enhance the sense of technology; Stainless steel components retain a mirror like luster, highlighting a metallic texture.
