Collection level ship model making process:
1. Design and Scale Restoration
The collectible ship models strictly follow international craftsmanship standards and accurately reproduce the structure of the real ship in ratios such as 1:75 or 1:100. Traditional craftsmanship requires manual drawing of cross-sectional lines with an error controlled within 0.05 millimeters, while modern 3D printing technology can achieve integrated molding with fine details of 0.1 millimeters. During the design phase, it is necessary to refer to actual ship engineering data to ensure that key features such as hull curves and deck layouts are consistent with the prototype. Some high-end models even include movable components (such as rotating radar and layered decks) to enhance interactivity.
2. Main structural technology
Traditional woodworking techniques: using mortise and tenon structure and plywood rib board, high-quality wood such as teak and boxwood are formed through more than 50 processes including turning, milling, planing, and grinding. The ship joints need to be seamlessly bonded with chloroform solvent and corrected with atomic ash.
Modern technology integration: 3D printing simplifies the process, taking only 3-5 days from modeling to slicing output. SLA technology can produce 2.4-meter large ship models, with complex internal structures formed in one go.
Detail enhancement: Brass etched sheet is used to make railing cables, PMMA sheet is used to simulate the light transmission effect of portholes, and micro screws are used to fix movable parts such as lifeboats.
3. Surface treatment and aging technology
Layered spraying: enamel paint is sprayed in multiple layers to form the main color tone, and composite colors are used on the deck to simulate wood oxidation, with edge stain solution to enhance shadows.
Dynamic light and shadow: The solar source simulates natural light effects, and later synthesizes fog effects and wave dynamics. The cockpit is equipped with LED light strips to enhance the hierarchy.
