Case study of energy storage cabinet model production
1、 Preliminary Preparation: Materials and Design
Choose a 1:20 ratio to restore the energy storage cabinet, with a core material of 1.2mm cold-rolled steel plate (laser cut to ensure consistency in box size) and 3D printing consumables (for making precision components such as battery racks and temperature controlled air ducts). Simultaneously prepare miniaturized equipment such as micro compressors, transparent acrylic tubes (simulating fire extinguishing paths), LED light strips (simulating SOC displays), as well as automotive grade paint and silk screen identification consumables to ensure the restoration of appearance and functional details.

2、 Structure production: Modular restoration of core components
Shell forming:
After laser cutting, cold-rolled steel plates are formed into three-dimensional shapes such as reinforcing ribs and door frames using CNC bending machines (such as U-shaped reinforcing ribs on side panels to enhance deformation resistance). The welding process adopts carbon dioxide gas shielded welding (carbon steel material) or pulsed argon arc welding (stainless steel material) to ensure that the protection level of the box reaches IP55 and resist the invasion of rainwater and dust.
Internal module construction:
Battery system: The battery rack is 3D printed according to the actual layout, with a detachable design for easy display of the internal structure; The battery unit adopts acrylic/resin simulation, silk screened with "REPT BATTERO" and other markings, restoring the visual details of the on-site energy storage cabinet.
Temperature control system: a micro compressor paired with a visual air duct to simulate the refrigeration logic of an actual energy storage cabinet; The air duct is made of transparent acrylic tube, which visually displays the direction of airflow.
Fire protection system: Transparent acrylic tube simulates the fire extinguishing path of heptafluoropropane, restoring the emergency scene of a fire; The battery compartment and equipment compartment are designed with quick release panels, which can fully display the internal wiring layout of the distribution cabinet.
3、 Dynamic control system: simulating operational logic
Build a three-layer control system based on PLC, covering equipment execution layer (precise action control), data processing layer (charge and discharge management), and visualization layer (real-time monitoring). The system supports three modes: charging (displaying PCS working status), discharging (simulating grid peak shaving), and protection (triggering temperature alarm linkage). The LED matrix intuitively displays SOC changes, and the current simulation accuracy reaches ± 1%.
4、 Post processing and transportation adaptation
Surface treatment: The surface of the box is first sandblasted/phosphated to remove the oxide layer and enhance the adhesion of the coating; Spray epoxy resin primer (50-80 μ m) and polysiloxane topcoat (80-100 μ m) again to enhance weather resistance; Some high-end scenes use powder coating to enhance surface hardness and durability.
Transportation adaptation: The model reserves a standard Modbus interface, which can communicate with SCADA system data; The overall structure adopts modular design, which is easy to disassemble and package, and meets the seismic and moisture-proof requirements for cross-border transportation.
5、 Restoration degree and application value
The model restoration rate reaches 90%, accurately presenting core elements such as battery module layout, temperature control system logic, fire protection device path, energy management process, etc. of the energy storage cabinet. It can be used for interactive display at new energy exhibitions, as well as providing intuitive reference for energy storage project scheme review, and helping technology dissemination and international cooperation landing.
