High-Precision Tank Model Production Case Study

Chassis Production:
We selected high-quality ABS sheet material and used precision cutting and manual finishing to create the tank's iconic square chassis. The weld seams were finely reproduced using engraving techniques, and each weld seam was repeatedly polished to ensure that it matched the actual shape in historical photographs. The chassis surface underwent special treatment to give it the rough texture characteristic of cast armour.
Detail Shaping:
The turret is cast using a multi-part moulding process, with the shield section of the 88mm main gun cast separately. The roadwheel system faithfully reproduces the Tiger tank's unique staggered layout, with each hub individually polished. The tracks are made from metal etched sheets, retaining the authentic drooping curvature.
Painting Process:
A three-colour camouflage paint scheme is used, starting with a standard dark yellow base coat for the German Army, followed by meticulously outlined green and brown camouflage patterns. Each layer of paint is strictly controlled to ensure colour accuracy of over 90%. Key areas such as the engine compartment cover undergo pre-shading treatment to enhance three-dimensionality.
Weathering Effects:
The entire vehicle undergoes multi-layer weathering processes: dust accumulation is simulated with a wash solution, metal wear is emphasised with rust-coloured pigments, and battlefield-like sand and dust effects are created using natural earth powder. Dry-brushing techniques highlight wear marks on armour edges, with track sections receiving enhanced rust effects.
Final refinements:
All hatches are designed as movable structures, with small components like tool mounts individually machined and installed. Spare tracks undergo special oxidation treatment to achieve a realistic metallic texture. Headlight lenses are coated with a light yellow hue to simulate usage marks.
Quality control:
Comprehensive inspections are conducted under professional lighting to ensure every detail aligns with historical records. The final product is equipped with a custom display stand to perfectly showcase the tank's imposing presence.
